Club History

Balwearie F.B.C. was formed by staff and students from Fife College of Technology in 2000. They regularly played in the old college gym until it was demolished.

Forced to look for new facilities, they discovered Balwearie High School Community centre, formed a committee and joined the G.B.F.F. Northern league in as Balwearie Fife Train in 2002.

Balwearie are a social club, more interested in having a good time and meeting and playing other clubs as well as promoting floorball for all those interested in learning the sport, which was just as well as they were regularly on the end of a good thrashing from the three other long established clubs - Chapel, Glenrothes and Hawick. Although times have now changed and Balwearie have two teams of decent standard to compete in all competitions.

The GBFF Northern League is expanding fast with new teams joining recently from Dundee and Linlithgow with Aberdeen Oilers expected to join in season 2007 / 2008.

Balwearie left the centre that gave them their name to play in a larger hall and now play at Kirkland Community Use Centre in Methil for an hour and a half on Sundays. We also train at Adam Smith College on Wednesday evenings for two hours. Details are posted on the training link.
